Three IBJJF Opens run Saturday and Sunday in Costa Mesa, Franklin and Boston, with 118 black belt entries between them. None of them has an announced stream, and the brackets usually go up on Friday.

The ADCC Vancouver Open streams Saturday morning on FloGrappling, and Elevate’s Cage Event 28 follows that afternoon from Dallas.

The short version:

  • Andy Murasaki and Luiz Victor are two of the three men at gi medium heavy in Orange County.
  • Ashlee Funegra, the reigning world champion at light feather, is alone at gi feather in Orange County.
  • Fellipe Andrew, a two time world champion, is at gi heavy in Orange County.
  • Wallisson Oliveira has one opponent in each Nashville division, so both matches are finals.
  • The ADCC Vancouver Open starts Saturday at 6:00 AM PT (9:00 AM ET) on FloGrappling.

The Orange County Fall Open runs Saturday and Sunday at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, with no-gi on Sunday. It has the deepest field of the weekend: 36 black belts in the gi and 29 in no-gi.

The division to watch is gi medium heavy, where Andy Murasaki, Luiz Victor and João Venancio are the only entrants. Murasaki won the IBJJF Crown middleweight title in 2024 and 2025 and the No-Gi Worlds at middle in 2022.

Luiz Victor won the American Nationals at medium heavy this year and took silver at the Europeans. He’s also entered at heavy in no-gi on Sunday.

Two world champions in Orange County have stories of their own:

  • Ashlee Funegra (women’s gi feather): the 2026 world champion at light feather and the only woman in her division. Our story has her titles.
  • Fellipe Andrew (gi heavy): world champion in the open class in 2021 and at heavy in 2023, two weeks before the IBJJF Crown. Our story has his titles and his division.

Also in Orange County:

  • Mariana Rolszt (women’s light feather, gi and no-gi): Pan No-Gi champion at rooster in 2025 and 2026, alone in both divisions. She won no-gi rooster here last year.
  • Thierry Felipe and Pietro Emanuel (ultra heavy, gi and no-gi): Thierry won no-gi ultra heavy at the Sacramento Fall Open last weekend with Pietro second, and both are at ultra heavy again here.
  • Alehander Mariano (no-gi medium heavy): 2024 Pan No-Gi champion at medium heavy. Arthur Mariath is his only opponent, so their match is the final.
  • Leo Vilela (no-gi feather): won gi and no-gi feather at the Sacramento Fall Open last weekend.
  • Cleber Sousa (feather, gi and no-gi): 2019 Pans champion at rooster.
