UFC BJJ 12 ran Thursday night at Meta APEX in Las Vegas with eight matches on UFC Fight Pass, and five of them ended in submissions, according to the UFC. Two debutants won by submission against established names: Gilbert Burns was caught in a heel hook by Gabriel Almeida late in the first round, and Thaynara Victória armbarred Danielle Kelly in under three minutes.

The titles

Cassia Moura, already the UFC BJJ bantamweight champion, won the first women’s flyweight title on a split decision over Adele Fornarino, who won two golds at ADCC 2024, and became the first double champion in UFC BJJ history, according to the UFC. The match closed out the women’s flyweight grand prix.

Renato Canuto took the vacant lightweight title with a unanimous decision over Ethan Crelinsten, after earlier challenging for the welterweight belt.
